The Vapor Genie is a specialized pipe that uses a vapor-genie-vaporizerceramic filter to vaporize any packed herb instead of burning it. Probably the simplest vaporizer available it requires only an open flame and some patience.

The Vapor Genie is a vaporizer pipe. At first look it resembles the thousands of other combustion pipes available with a bowl chamber on the end of a tube. The difference is that while most pipes have open chamber that permit flame to directly contact and burn loaded plant material the bowl of the Vapor Genie is covered with a perforated flame resistant ceramic. This prevents contact and instead the temperature of the air in the chamber is gradually increased. The ceramic used is a very high quality and provides very clean hits.

The user holds an open flame near the ceramic cover, though not touching, and inhales. It takes several seconds to heat up but once it reaches the required temperature the user will start to taste the desired compounds. If the chamber gets too hot and begins burning the flame is simply moved further away and it will quickly cool. It is a very manual process and can take some getting used to but are relatively inexpensive. It does not have a display or sophisticated control mechanism but for 50 bucks and the cost of shipping you can be ingesting significantly less toxins then you are now with smoking.

It is a very simple design with no moving parts. Units that have kept properly maintained have been known to last a very long time, if even comes with a lifetime guarantee. The quality of components used  including the metal screen and ceramic flame guard means it can continue providing clean hits as long as it is cleaned periodically.

If you currently enjoy smoking a pipe but want to find a healthier alternative or just want an affordable introduction to vaporizing the Vapor Genie is an excellent option. It does not have many of the features and uses of most of the vaporizers on the market but what it does do, provide portable flame powered convection vaporizer hits, it does very well.
